Course Objectives

What you'll set out to achieve

  • ✦Build a solid foundation in how data travels across local and wide-area networks
  • ✦Configure and troubleshoot real routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure
  • ✦Get first hands-on exposure to network security basics — firewalls, VLANs, segmentation
  • ✦Build the base needed to choose a Level 2/3 track with confidence

FAQs

Common questions

What background do I need to start?

Basic computer literacy is helpful. The Foundational Program assumes no prior networking knowledge.

Is there physical hardware to work with?

Yes — the Networking Lab has a physical rack with Cisco switches, routers, and patch panels, alongside simulation tools like Packet Tracer and GNS3.

What happens after I finish the Foundational Program?

You move on to Level 2 (Advanced Networking), then Level 3 (Network Ops & Security), or continue directly toward the full Diploma in Networking.

Start with the fundamentals.

Lab-first, project-driven — the same structured first step every Sophorion networking student takes.
