Course Objectives

What you'll set out to achieve

  • ✦Build foundational engineering and programming logic through hands-on robot construction
  • ✦Understand electronics, sensors, and control systems at a practical, applied level
  • ✦Progress from simple line-following bots to autonomous AI-integrated systems
  • ✦Develop mechanical design thinking alongside software and electronics skills
  • ✦Graduate with a documented build portfolio and competition-ready projects
Who This Is For

Target Audience

  • →Students from Grade 4 upward with curiosity about how things work
  • →Learners who want to combine physical making with programming and electronics
  • →Students interested in engineering, mechatronics, or product design careers
  • →Anyone who learns best by building something tangible — not reading about it

FAQs

Common questions

What age can students start Robotics?

From Grade 4 (around age 9–10). The curriculum is scaffolded — earlier levels are visual and mechanical, with programming introduced progressively.

Do students need any prior experience?

None at all. Level 1 assumes no prior knowledge of electronics or programming.

Are kits provided in class?

Yes — all Arduino kits, sensors, motors, and components are available in the Robotics Lab. Students work on shared equipment in class; take-home kits can be arranged separately.

Is there a competition component?

Yes — ORI's Robotics League runs structured competitions for students at multiple levels. Demo Day showcases are held at the end of each cohort.

How many levels are there?

Eight levels — from Junior Entry (Grade 4–5) through to Super Senior Pro (graduation-level 2), covering 100+ classes across the full curriculum.
